Cookies and browser storage
We count visits without cookies, and only use analytics cookies if you say yes. We use no advertising cookies. The booking calendar at the end of the Website Finder is GoHighLevel’s, and keeps its own. This page lists what’s kept in your browser, and why.
What we always store
Our sites keep two things in your browser whatever you choose. Neither is shared with anyone, and neither tracks you across other sites.
| Name | Site | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
linnstudio-scope-v2 | start.linnstudio.co.uk | Saves your Website Finder answers and a reference code for them, so you can pick up where you left off | Until you book your call or press Start over, or clear your browser data |
linnstudio-analytics-consent | Both sites | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page | 12 months |
Because they only support a feature you use or remember a choice you made, UK law treats them as strictly necessary, and they don’t need your consent. The second is only set once you answer our cookie banner.
Analytics
We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to see how our sites are used: which pages people visit, how far they read, what they click, how the pointer moves, how quickly pages load and where people leave. We use what we learn to improve the sites. We never use it for advertising.
Without cookies, for every visit
By default PostHog counts your visit without keeping anything in your browser. (It sets a test cookie for a moment, to check that cookies work, and deletes it straight away.) Its servers turn your IP address and browser type into an anonymous code that changes every day, so we can tell one visit from another on the same day but can’t recognise you tomorrow or on any other site.
With cookies, only if you accept
If you choose Accept on our cookie banner, PostHog also stores the items below. They let it recognise you when you come back and follow one visit from linnstudio.co.uk into the Website Finder. It also records how you use each page (scrolling, clicks, the options you pick and the screens you see), so we can replay a visit and find where a page is confusing. Anything you type is hidden before the recording leaves your browser.
| Name | Where | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_…_posthog | Cookie and local storage, both sites | An anonymous visitor ID and details of your current visit | 12 months |
ph_…_window_id, ph_…_primary_window_exists | Session storage, both sites | Tell one browser tab from another in a recording | Until you close the tab |
If you decline, or don’t answer, none of these are set and no recording is made. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we take that as a no and don’t show the banner.
These cookies are set by our own sites, not by another company’s, and what they collect goes to PostHog’s servers in Frankfurt. We keep analytics for up to 12 months and recordings for up to 30 days.
The booking calendar
The calendar for booking your kick-off call, at the end of the Website Finder, is run for us by GoHighLevel (HighLevel LLC) and shown in a frame from leadconnectorhq.com. It opens with your result when one of our plans fits. What it keeps belongs to that site, not to ours.
When it opens, it stores the items below for its analytics, which show us where bookings come from. Cloudflare, which protects it, may also set its security cookie and ask you to confirm you’re a person. The calendar loads Meta’s advertising code too. It isn’t connected to any Meta account, so it sends Meta nothing about your visit, though your browser does download the code from Meta.
| Name | Where | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
ghl_analytics_user_id | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | A random ID that tells your browser apart in the calendar’s analytics | Until you clear your browser data |
v2_user_session_event_…_fingerprint | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | Recognises your browser when you come back | 12 months |
v2_contact_session_… | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | Groups what you do into a visit | 30 minutes after you leave |
v2_session_history_… | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | A list of your visits | Until you clear your browser data |
v2_history_… | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | Where your visits came from: the source, the page you came from and any ad or campaign tags | Until you clear your browser data |
lc_appt_data | Local storage, leadconnectorhq.com | The details of the call you’ve just booked | 10 minutes |
__cf_bm | Cookie, leadconnectorhq.com | Cloudflare’s check that you’re a person, not automated traffic | 30 minutes |
They’re the calendar’s own, so your answer to our cookie banner doesn’t change them. To remove them, clear your browser data for leadconnectorhq.com. Some browsers keep them separate for each site you visit, or block them. GoHighLevel’s privacy policy explains what it does with them.
Changing your choice
Choose Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to accept or decline analytics cookies again. If you change from accept to decline, the analytics cookies are removed and recording stops straight away.
You can also clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings at any time. Both sites still work without them: the Website Finder just won’t remember your answers between visits.
Changes
If we add anything else that needs your consent, we’ll update this page first and ask before anything is set. Questions? Email hello@linnstudio.co.uk. Our privacy notice has the full picture.
